High-Rise Construction

Sites store valuable materials like copper wiring, steel beams, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC components, which are prime targets for theft due to their high resale value on the black market. Heavy machinery (e.g., cranes, lifts) and tools (e.g., welders, power drills) are also frequently stolen.

High-rise sites have multiple entry points, including ground-level access, scaffolding, and unfinished upper floors, which are easily exploited by thieves and vandals. Temporary fencing or barriers, such as chain-link, is often inadequate and easily breached.

Construction sites are typically unmanned at night, on weekends, or during project pauses, leaving materials, equipment, and incomplete structures exposed to theft and vandalism with minimal immediate detection.

Sites are prone to vandalism, such as graffiti on unfinished walls, destruction of drywall, or damage to equipment (e.g., cut cables, broken machinery).

Many high-rise sites rely on minimal security, such as outdated cameras, insufficient lighting, or weak access controls, which fail to deter determined criminals. The vertical and sprawling nature of these sites makes comprehensive surveillance challenging.

High-rise sites are often located in urban or developing areas, where they are visible and accessible to opportunistic thieves or vandals. Proximity to public spaces increases the risk of trespassing and criminal activity.
